TOP 10 HIP-HOP BEATS OF ALL TIME!!

SUPREME ENTERTAINMENT VOL. 5 PRESENTS.....................

THE TOP 10 HIP-HOP BEATS OF ALL TIME!!

NOW I KNOW THIS IS A TOUGH ONE BUT I'M REALLY EXCITED AND INTERESTED TO HEAR PEOPLE TRY TO BREAKDOWN AND ANALYZE, WHAT ARE THE TOP 10 BEST HIP-HOP BEATS, OF ALL TIME!! THAT MEANS BEST BEATS EVER!! WHAT DO YOU THINK EVEN QUALIFIES A GREAT BEAT? A HEAD NODDING RHYTHM, GREAT BASSLINE, MELODIC SOUNDSCAPE, DANCEABLE DRUMBEAT, ORIGINAL PATTERN, ETC! THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT IT SHOULD QUALIFY BY BEING ONE OF THE HOTTEST, SICKEST, FLYEST, JOINTS EVER HEARD THAT CAN STAND THE TEST OF TIME, AND HOLD IT'S OWN IN ANY TIME FRAME OR ERA. IF YOU'RE THINKING OF A JOINT THAT WAS MAD HOT IN 1986 BUT SOUNDS JUST OK IN 2007, THAT AIN'T THE GREATEST OF All TIME TYPE OF MATERIAL! THESE 10 JOINTS SHOULD BE TIMELESS CLASSICS THAT HOLD THEIR FRESHNESS AS FIRMLY TODAY, AS THE FIRST DAY THEY WERE PRODUCED! THINK LONG, HARD AND CAREFULLY ABOUT THIS ONE, CAUSE THE BEATS IN HIP-HOP'S ARCHIVES RUN DEEP! AND TO START THINGS OFF I'LL GIVE YOU A LIST OF MY OWN TOP 10 THAT I'LL LEAVE OPEN FOR DEBATE:

10. Check the Technique - Gangstarr (D.J. Premier at his best)

9. Ain't No Half Stepping - Big Daddy Kane (Gotta have a Marley Marl track here)

8. So What You Saying - E.P.M.D. (one of the coolest head nodding beats ever)

7. The Show - Slick Rick & Dougie Fresh (one of Teddy Riley's earliest beats)

6. The Bridge Is Over - B.D.P. (you know the Bronx gotta be up in here)

5. Follow The Leader - Eric B. & Rakim (Eric B. was ahead of his time on this one)

4. The Symphony - Masta Ace, Craig G., Kool G. Rap & Big Daddy Kane (Marley Marl constructed this materpiece, the greatest posse record in Hip-Hop)

3. Planet Rock - Afrika Bambaataa (the illest and most original sounding joint that truly changed the game. To this day there's no beat that sounds like it)

2. The Message - Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five (if you don't know why this is on here you better ask somebody. It's like a jungle sometimes baby, lol)

1. Sucker MC's - Run-DMC (some may think 2 or 3 on my list should go ahead of this, but for some reason this is not only my favorite Run-DMC joint but my fav beat ever, it just always commands my head to nod uncontrollably on cue. Jam Master Jay was the man hands down, R.I.P., brotha)

Oh and not to be forgotten I must mention a few honorable mentions as well. Check these other 20 beats that also make a tough arguement to be considered for top 10 of all time!
